Apple Pay Officially Launches in the Philippines: Here’s What You Need to Know

Apple Pay is now officially available in the Philippines, giving iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac users a faster, more secure, and more convenient way to pay in stores, apps, and online.

At launch, Apple has partnered with four local financial institutions, allowing eligible cardholders to add their debit and credit cards directly to Apple Wallet for seamless contactless payments.

Supported Banks

The following banks currently support Apple Pay in the Philippines:

  • Chinabank – Eligible debit and credit cards can now be added to Apple Wallet.
  • GoTyme Bank – Supports both physical and virtual debit cards, including MoreTyme cards.
  • Metrobank – Eligible debit and credit cards can be used for contactless in-store purchases and online checkouts.
  • UnionBank – Participating debit and credit cards are fully integrated with Apple Pay.

How to Add Your Card to Apple Pay

Setting up Apple Pay only takes a few minutes:

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the + (plus) button in the upper-right corner.
  3. Scan your card or enter the card details manually.
  4. Complete the verification process through your bank (via SMS, phone call, or the bank’s mobile app).
  5. Once verified, your card is ready to use for secure tap-to-pay transactions.
